Before it was Villa Park, it was Ardmore: the 1910 subdivision laid out beside the electric railway that is now the Illinois Prairie Path, and the name the town still carries on its main north-south avenue. We took the name because this is where the work is: in basements built in the 1920s and the 1950s, on clay sewer lines under old parkway trees, and in sump pits that fill up every time a spring storm rolls across DuPage County.
Our promise: a live answer, any hour
Plumbing problems keep their own schedule. A sewer backup starts during the storm, not the next morning. A pipe splits on the coldest night of January. So Ardmore Plumbers answers (858) 363-8298 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays. The person who picks up asks what is happening, helps you stop the water if it is still running, and gets a plumber moving.
We don't promise an arrival time we can't keep. On an ordinary night a plumber can often get to you quickly; on a storm night, when basements all over the county are taking water, we tell you honestly where you stand. If the arrival window changes, call back at any hour and a person will tell you where it stands now.
Licensed and insured, every job
Every plumber we send is licensed and insured in Illinois. Illinois licenses plumbers statewide through the Illinois Department of Public Health, and you are welcome to ask the plumber for their license number and check it on the IDPH plumbing program page before any work starts.
Illinois also registers plumbing contractors: to register, a contractor files a certificate of insurance and a surety bond with the state (see the IDPH contractor registration form). You can ask the plumber for that certificate of insurance at the door. A legitimate contractor has it and won't mind showing it.
How we work: who does what
Ardmore Plumbers connects you with independent licensed plumbers who perform the work. We run the phone line and the dispatch; independent licensed plumbers do the diagnosis, the pricing and the work. We think you should know that before you call, not find out when someone knocks on the door.
- You call. A live person takes down the problem, the town you are in and anything urgent, like water near the electrical panel or sewage on the floor.
- We dispatch. We reach the nearest available licensed plumber who handles that kind of job and let you know who is coming.
- The plumber diagnoses and prices. They find the cause, explain your options and give you the price before any work starts. If a small job turns out to be a bigger one, you get a new price and you decide. Beyond stopping water that is actively doing damage, nothing starts until you approve it.
- The work gets done. Repairs are tested before the plumber leaves, and permits are pulled where the village requires them, such as for a water heater replacement. Keep the invoice: it should name the cause, where it was and the repair, which is what an insurer or a future buyer will want to see.

What we focus on
Villa Park's housing tells you what a plumber needs to be good at here: the median house was built around 1958, nearly all of them have basements, and parts of the village still sit on combined sewers. That is why our work centers on drain cleaning and sewer rodding, sewer line repair, sump pumps, basement flood control, water heaters and everyday plumbing repair, with a 24/7 emergency line for the nights it can't wait. We also cover Lombard, Westmont, Addison, Glen Ellyn and Elmhurst; see our service areas. Homeowners, landlords and property managers all call the same number, whether it is a single-family ranch, a two-flat near the Prairie Path or a condo building.
How we keep this site accurate
This site should be useful at 2 a.m. with water on the floor, so it has to be right. The rules we follow:
- Village programs are quoted from the official pages, linked, with a reminder to check current terms, because budgets and rules change. Only the village approves a reimbursement.
- Licensing questions point to the Illinois Department of Public Health; drying and mold guidance points to the EPA.
- No plumbing prices we can't stand behind. The price comes from the plumber who sees the job, before work starts; our guide to plumber costs explains what moves it.
- No invented reviews, ratings, years in business, license numbers or job stories.
- Every page shows the date it was last updated. If you spot something out of date, call (858) 363-8298 and tell us.
What we won't do
- Show you ratings or reviews we don't have. Real reviews will appear on this site as customers leave them.
- Promise that a village reimbursement will be approved. We explain the programs and point you to the village.
- Start work before you have agreed to a price.
- Pretend to be a big local shop with a fleet of trucks. We are a phone line and a network of licensed plumbers.
Questions about how Ardmore Plumbers works
Who actually does the work in my home?
An independent plumber who is licensed and insured in Illinois. Ardmore Plumbers answers the phone, takes down the problem and dispatches; the plumber who arrives diagnoses it, prices it and does the work, and your agreement for the job is with that plumber. We say so up front so nobody is surprised at the door.
How do you decide which plumber to send?
We look for the nearest available licensed plumber who handles that kind of job: rodding and camera equipment for a main-line backup, a replacement pump for a dead sump, the parts a water heater repair needs. Distance and the type of job matter most. On storm nights availability matters too, and we tell you honestly how long the wait looks.
Can I see proof of insurance before work starts?
Yes. Ask the plumber for a certificate of insurance along with their Illinois license number. Plumbing contractors register with the Illinois Department of Public Health by filing proof of insurance and a surety bond, so a legitimate contractor has the paperwork ready to show you.
Why doesn't this site show reviews or a street address?
Because we don't have reviews we can verify yet, and we don't run a storefront. Ardmore Plumbers is a 24/7 phone line and dispatch service for Villa Park and the towns around it, so there is no office to list. Reviews will appear on the homepage as real customers leave them, with their town and the work that was done.
